Job Responsibilities
1. Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises server and network technologies across multiple sites along the M62 corridor, as well as the cloud services utilized by the business.
2. Collaborate with business leaders and third parties to ensure our infrastructure enhances the business, provides futureproofing, resiliency, and security.
3. Manage the service desk function, ensuring all incidents are logged and all notes, progress, and required actions are documented promptly and accurately.
4. Ensure all service desk tickets comply with service level agreements.
5. Deliver excellent customer service to end users across various communication channels, including face-to-face, email, and phone, addressing a multitude of issues.
6. Work with the UK IT Manager and the broader support team to identify and address recurring technical issues, along with any training or documentation needs.
7. Investigate and resolve medium to high complexity application functionality issues, providing guidance and advice to business users on effective use of applications and IT.
8. Produce and maintain technical processes, training documentation, and knowledge base articles related to business systems.
9. Continuously improve knowledge and understanding of the various software and hardware technologies supported by the team.
10. Liaise closely with business and third-party solution providers and key stakeholders.
11. Assist in implementing, configuring, and testing feasible solutions.
12. Help recruit and train new team members as needed.
13. Serve as a deputy for the UK IT Manager when required.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience managing both internal business and operational users along with solution providers.
2. Hands-on experience as an Infrastructure Engineer / 3rd Line Support or in system administration, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
3. Strong exposure to Cisco networking, including switching, routing, Meraki, and Umbrella.
4. Proficient in Hyper-V and the Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
5. Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and Crystal Reports.
6. Experience with SQL or other scripting languages.
7. Exposure to 1st or 2nd line support for ERP systems, particularly in modules such as Financials, Procurement, HR, and Inventory/Warehouse management; Dynamics 365 or AX experience is a plus.
8. Familiarity with SharePoint and business intelligence products.
9. Ability to quickly understand various complex systems and business processes while being flexible and adaptable in ambiguous situations.
10. Organized and methodical, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
11. Experience in removing legacy technology and working on various IT infrastructure projects.
