Securities Services Technology – Head of Architecture and Shared Services
Securities Services, a leading business line in the Citi Services, offers the full spectrum of capabilities to clients including Custody, Fund Accounting, Investment Accounting, Fund Administration, Middle Office Services, Performance and Risk Analytics, Transfer Agency and issuer services across multiple jurisdictions.
Securities Services has embarked on significant business growth through digital transformation and technology investments. To meet the objectives of the business, Securities Services Technology (SST) is undergoing an exciting platform modernization journey focused on improving agility, scalability, and simplifying the architecture. Program Execution is underway since 2022, with transformational leaders dedicated to this multiyear program and moving to a new next generation architecture on a cloud native platform.
About the Role
The SST Head of Architecture and Shared Services is a strategic engineering leader who will be a critical member of SST management team and drive architectural and shared services vision. This role will be responsible for leading a team of architects and developers responsible for architecture at securities services level and deliver shared services for key strategic transformational programs including platform modernisation, footprint simplification and new capability development. The Head of architecture and shared services will play a crucial role in the organization's digital transformation efforts and will work closely with business heads across the organization to support the business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Develops strategic direction of the Architecture function to harmonize with overall business / technology objectives.
2. Develops target state architecture and implements strong architectural governance for design, build and deployment of new applications and services.
3. Builds the shared services platform vision, strategy, and execution plan for securities services business lines.
4. Accountable for Architecture and shared services budgeting, resourcing, stakeholder management and delivery.
5. Drives standardisation of tech stack, shared services, adoption of DevSecOps tooling and improves times to market.
6. Involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed and possibly on other related areas and the organization as a whole.
7. Exhibits sound understanding of theories and practices in architecture and multiple related areas.
8. Has in depth knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and of direct competitors products and services.
9. Build SRE principles and blueprints into the development pipeline and significantly improve time to detect and time to resolve incidents.
10. Interfaces with each line of business, service providers and Citi internal partners to assess their technology assets and guide their product roadmap based on securities services requirements.
11. Provides thought leadership in architecture, new technologies including cloud, Gen AI, digital assets and enable business with competitive advantage.
12. Assesses risks during architectural decisions, building client solutions, enables problem solving and enables data driven decision making.
13. Effectively communicates securities services target state architecture to stakeholders across the organization, clients and regulators.
14. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in technology application development and architecture.
2. Experience as a Senior architect or enterprise architect in securities services preferred.
3. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
4. Management and prioritization skills.
5. Ability to develop working relationships.
6. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
7. Self-starter with ability to take the initiative and master new tasks quickly.
8. Methodical, attention to detail.
9. Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
10. Familiarity with security and compliance best practices.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
