We have a fantastic opportunity to join the education team at HMYOI Wetherby as the Deputy Head of Education on a Permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will have significant and successful recent senior management experience in a school or college with a good understanding of 16-18 education.
As the Deputy Head of Education, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Focus on Culture, Performance & Data, lead and conduct new staff induction with middle managers.
2. Lead on the recruitment and retention of colleagues.
3. Lead on Safeguarding (DSL).
4. Lead the strategy to improve the attendance of all learners and work in partnership internally.
5. Lead on all areas related to Health and Safety to ensure a safe working environment for staff and students.
6. Lead and champion Staff Wellbeing.
7. Manage the admin function including the Business Data Manager and Exam Officer.
8. Ensure that information on student progress (data) is used to improve teaching and learning to inform and motivate students.
9. Provide timely data analysis to drive quality improvement and ensure high standards for all.
10. Support identified departments and be accountable for attainment, progress, interventions, and results ensuring positive outcomes for learners.
11. Deploy staff effectively and efficiently in covering absence and annual leave.
12. Allocate, control and account for delegated financial and material resources for curriculum to enhance the learning experience.
13. Monitor, evaluate and review the impact of policies, priorities, and Novus objectives, and act if necessary.
14. Lead on contractual performance reviews.
To be successful in your application we are looking for the following qualifications & experience:
* Proven experience of working with Young People.
* Experience of supporting delivery within a complex education service.
* A teaching qualification, minimum Cert Ed or PGCE.
* Experience of effectively employing quality assurance tools.
* Must have a background focusing on Culture, Performance & Data.
* Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
