LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.
By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Manager Relief to join our team based at the LondonEnergy EcoPark in Edmonton. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the shift operations staff within our Energy Centre. This is a permanent role, with the usual set hours; however, you will be covering absent staff.
Responsibilities
* Leadership and Staff Management: Oversee shift staff operations at the Energy Centre and act as the management representative for the LondonEnergy Eco Park site during out-of-hours.
* Training and Development: Manage the professional development and training programs for shift staff to ensure continuous growth and adherence to operational standards.
* Safety and Incident Management: Lead emergency response and plant safety efforts, including serving as the Site Safety/Incident Controller and conducting investigations into incidents and accidents for continuous improvement.
* Defect and Performance Management: Identify, prioritize, and address defects, while providing performance and conduct advice to staff to enhance operational effectiveness.
* Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment, and Safety policies, procedures, and systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shift logs and records for the Energy Centre.
* Efficiency and Operational Optimization: Maximize waste throughput and electricity production, while identifying and implementing efficiency measures to increase revenue or reduce costs.
* Housekeeping and Safety Culture: Promote a positive safety culture and ensure high housekeeping standards are consistently maintained within the Energy Centre Operations.
Requirements
* Proven ability to lead and manage a shift.
* Experience working in an EFW plant or similar environment.
* Reviewing risk assessments and method statements for work carried out onsite.
* First Aid at Work Certificate preferred.
* NEBOSH preferred.
* Senior Authorised Person status.
* HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
