We’re seeking a compassionate and proactive 1:1 Mentor to support students who need extra help to succeed in their education. This is a rewarding and varied role where you’ll provide one-to-one support to students, helping them engage with education and develop essential life skills. No two days are the same and your support will be life-changing for the young people you work with!
About the school:
This specialist provision caters to students aged 11 - 16 who have been excluded from school or are at risk of exclusion. With a strong focus on core subjects and alternative learning experiences, the school offers vocational training, outdoor education and personalised development to help students thrive.
Your role as a 1:1 Mentor:
* Support students academically and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers to learning
* Assist with personalised timetables, including off-site activities such as farm visits, sports centres and museums
* Foster a safe and supportive learning environment, prioritising student wellbeing
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with EHCPs
* Build strong relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
Who we’re looking for:
We welcome applications from candidates with a background in education, youth work, coaching or support roles. It is essential that you have at least 3 months of child-based experience in the UK, even on a voluntary basis. If you’re passionate about working with young people, we want to hear from you!
