The College of Optometrists is the professional body for optometry. It qualifies the profession and delivers the guidance and development to ensure optometrists provide the best possible care. We promote excellence through the College’s affixes, by building the evidence base for optometry, and raising awareness of the profession with the public, commissioners, and healthcare professionals. We are looking for an E-Learning Developer who will join our established and busy Education team. This role will work across the College and with external stakeholders to develop appropriate, effective and engaging online training and qualification assets for the College. Reporting to the Digital Education Manager, the role holder will be responsible for (please refer to the Job Description for more details): Develop, produce, and publish engaging digital training content, courses, and resources using e-learning authoring tools and video/audio editing software. Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies for developing the digital assets and resources. Edit and update existing content to ensure accuracy and relevance Support and assist with user feedback processes by gathering and collating data and reports from the College’s learning platform. Successful candidates would need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and knowledge: Strong experience in developing digital content and SCORM based e-learning courses, with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Competent in using graphics/image software, video/audio editing, and e-learning authoring tools such as Adapt and Articulate 360 suite, especially Storyline and Rise. Ability to coordinate and deliver multiple internal and external projects running concurrently. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work proactively and independently while meeting multiple deadlines and delivering high-quality, accurate outputs at all times.
