If so, come join us as a Lead IT Asset Manager.
This role would be working in collaboration with the Head of the IT Asset Management team within DWP. The team is made up of 20 members focusing on delivering value and ensuring compliance to all software spend within DWP.
The role includes line management of a small team alongside the relationship management and contract management of our external ITAM partners. Close collaboration with many different senior stakeholders in DWP is essential. The role provides opportunity to make large savings and deliver value to a budget of approximately £100m a year.
The responsibilities within this area include the strategy and management of our Platinum publishers which currently are Microsoft, Oracle and IBM. The role also includes the product ownership of Flexera.
* Microsoft – manage software licences at a value of £50m per year. Collaboration with high level, senior stakeholders in order to optimise licence usage and streamline processes.
* Oracle - manage software licences at a value of £12m per year. Collaboration with high level, senior stakeholders in order to optimise licence usage and develop new processes.
* IBM – manage software licences at a value of £5m per year. Collaboration with high level, senior stakeholders in order to optimise licence usage and develop new processes following a 2025 renewal.
* Flexera – product owner for Flexera, promoting the benefits of Asset Management tooling with the wider DWP and working in close collaboration with the Enterprise Tooling Team.
* You will have overall responsibility and accountability for People, Process and Technology in your area, that covers a significant portion of the overall DWP IT Asset Management process.
* Lead and manage the Asset Management Capability, including coordinating activities and resources. Recruit, develop and manage Capability staff. Promote effective team dynamics and collaboration.
* Provide expert advice and support strategic decisions to optimise DWP’s Technology.
* Develop and plan the adoption of new policies, standards, processes, organisational capabilities and technology.
* Ensure the effectiveness of the IT Asset Management System, you will implement comprehensive measurement and monitoring of process performance and compliance across the organisation.
* Provide Management Information on the status of Asset Management for operational and Continuous Service Improvement purposes.
