TXM are working with a revolutionary market leader to look for two Engineering Technicians based in Bicester
Purpose of Post:
Responsible for the installation and testing of chassis and body electrical control systems in accordance with customer specifications, ensuring the necessary quality standards are maintained and adhered to. To complete multiple tasks across several distinct areas of the production build processes. Carry out campaign work (on and offsite), retrofits, and catch-up work, ensuring productivity targets are met, as well as quality and efficiency standards. Conversant with critical processes, SWPs, and WMPs necessary to carry out the functions while maintaining conformity to the Client customer promise of high-class quality vehicles. Determine areas for operational/design improvement. Provide support to NPI activities, as and when requested. A flexible approach and an openness to travel if requested are essential for this position.
Our client is looking to offer a 4-day working week (Monday-Thursday) with Friday being an optional day paid at an overtime rate.
Key Tasks:
* Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policy and procedures, ensuring workshop policies are adhered to.
* Ensure work carried out meets the Client-agreed quality standard and that all necessary quality sign-offs and procedures are complied with.
* Install the vehicle electrical control system per specification requirements as detailed by relevant documentation.
* Install and modify vehicle wiring harnesses and components as detailed in the contract build documentation.
* Terminate various automotive and high-voltage connections up to 800V AC or DC.
* Test and commission vehicle electrical systems as per Quality Assurance documentation.
* Diagnose and repair faults in the vehicle electrical system using bespoke diagnostic software.
* Complete software installation in accordance with agreed processes.
* Progress production/NPI vehicles through final stages of production to customer sign-off (CSO).
* Modify or alter looms as required by vehicle design during the assembly process.
* Identify areas for process/build improvement.
* Conduct ad-hoc campaign work on-site or at customer garages based in NI, ROI, UK, or further depending on customer base, sometimes at short notice.
* Undertake training or retraining associated with the post, introduction of new working practices, or engineering changes, including training others.
* Build strong customer relations and demonstrate high levels of ability, presenting oneself professionally when carrying out company business.
