You will be joining an active, friendly, and professional team with prospects to gain experience across a range of environmental health areas including: statutory nuisance, food safety, health protection, and infectious diseases. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting investigations, responding to requests, and taking enforcement action where there is non-compliance across a range of environmental health legislation. Some of the qualifications and skills required include: Evidence of Level 3 qualification attainment (e.g. A-level or Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent level of experience. Able to conduct investigations and inspections. Capable of applying principles to make informed decisions and effectively solve problems. Able and willing to undertake a range of enforcement action. Experience of working effectively with the public or businesses and providing excellent customer service. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including during conflict situations. Able to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines. Able to work flexibly including some work outside normal office hours. The requirement to drive is essential. You will be expected to travel within Birmingham for which you will be remunerated for the use of your car.
