As an SWS Field Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Work as directed by the Waterfront Manager & Lead Engineers to ensure the Fire Control (FC), Shipboard Data System (SDS), Launcher and Strategic Weapon Support System (SWSS) remain operational both within SWSB and onboard UK SSBN's. Work as directed by the Waterfront Lead Engineers to conduct Preventative and Corrective maintenance on the FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS systems. Provide engineering support for SSBN and shore based SWS systems and equipment. Conduct shipyard activities at Devonport & Barrow-in-Furness on the Vanguard / Dreadnought Class FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS as directed by the LMUK DMP & Dreadnought SITP Managers. Provide technical advice and support to TSPT both in the UK and at meetings in the USA as assigned by the Waterfront Associate Manager. Primarily based at HMNB Clyde in Faslane, Scotland you will be expected to frequently provide support across the UK. Knowledge and experience of the Trident Weapon System FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS systems. Completed TEST Courses or equivalent training relating to section outputs.. Demonstrate IT skills to a competent level and have experience in using Microsoft Office applications. Pro-active approach to providing technical solutions to emergent challenges. Able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to successful conclusion by due deadlines. Confident and competent communicator at all levels using oral, written and presentational skills. Ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Desired skills Completed SWSB Waterfront Engineer Courses related to section outputs (FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS). Familiarity with the Strategic Weapon System Maintenance Activity Control (SWSMAC) information technology system. Knowledge and experience of the Dreadnought Strategic Weapon System (FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS. Completed SWSB Waterfront Engineer Courses related to FC, SDS, Launcher and SWSS. Knowledge and experience of Class 6 Equipment including procurement, design, and through-life management. Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
