Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic communications and marketing professional to join our busy External Relations Team. This role is crucial in driving further growth of our already strong market position and developing the distinctive BMS brand and reputation. It is a hands-on role managing design and print, websites and all forms of media in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
We are ideally looking for someone with a flair for generating compelling written and visual content, developing creative advertising campaigns and a successful track record in digital marketing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience using Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro and Microsoft Office are key. You should also feel comfortable using a variety of marketing channels and tactics and be able to analyse the success of campaigns and demonstrate return on investment.
Prior experience of working in a school is not essential but the successful candidate will have empathy for independent education in general, combined with an instinctive feel for the school’s customers and their needs.
In return, we can offer a friendly and supportive working environment, CPD opportunities available through our membership of the Harpur Trust, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme, a generous pension scheme, free lunches (in term time) and free parking.
