Lecturer in Humanities (Law)

Job Purpose:
We are looking for industry experts to teach, assess, and contribute to the successful learning experiences of students. The successful candidate will play an active role in curriculum development, student support, and enhancing retention, achievement, and progression rates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses (16-19 and adult learners) from Level 1 to Level 4.
* Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and schemes of work.
* Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator, providing support and guidance to students.
* Engage in curriculum development aligned with national standards and local community needs.
* Contribute to student assessment, monitoring progress, and providing timely feedback.
* Liaise with employers and external agencies to enhance learning opportunities and career progression.
* Participate in quality assurance processes, examinations, and student admissions.
* Engage in continuous professional development to maintain subject expertise.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A degree in Law or a related field such as Criminology.
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience teaching and/or training in Law or Criminology with the ability to create engaging teaching materials.
* Knowledge of current developments in the legal and justice sector.
* Strong administrative and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
* Assessor and Verifier awards.
* Evidence of high-quality teaching (Grade 1 or 2).
* Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
* Proficiency in using a range of teaching aids, including Information and Learning Technology (ILT).
