An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint 3 Family Support Workers.
This post is being recruited in response to the Scottish Government's commitment to Whole Family Wellbeing and providing the right support, at the right time, for children and their families.
This funding is being provided to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families, impacted by a variety of issues with a focus on closing the poverty-related attainment gap.
The Family Support Workers will be an integral part of the community in which they are deployed, supporting children and their families and working to achieve best outcomes. They will also work with families to mitigate the impact that vulnerability and hardship can have on their ability to fully engage with supports.
You will be working with an experienced team and have responsibility for your own cases, with support from the Parenting and Family Co-ordinator and Service Manager. You will be able to work independently and as part of the wider team.
East Lothian Council are keen to recruit staff who are passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for children and their families. We are focused on supporting and improving outcomes for our families. We are committed to promoting an open and trusting culture at all levels and prioritise continuous professional development and learning. Our staff are our greatest asset and we strive to be supportive, inclusive and child centred.
