Are you a creative developer or artist looking for a unique project? SPYSQUAD HQ, a Cornish-based edu-tainment company, is on a mission to help kids develop essential life skills through fun, engaging experiences, and we’re seeking talented individuals to help us bring our next project to life!
About the Project: We are creating a point-and-click escape room game aimed at children and families aged 9+. The game will involve one interactive room, with elements like cupboards, drawers, and objects that players can examine and collect in their inventory. It’s part of our “spy training” series, which we use in schools, colleges, and private sessions to promote emotional intelligence and self-awareness in young people.
Key Features:
Interactive one-room setting (escape room theme)
Collectible objects that track progress in an inventory system
Aimed at children and families (ages 9+)
Combines educational life skills with fun spy-themed gameplay
Inspirations:
We love the style and design of games like Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise, Monkey Island, and The Room. We’re open to creative input on the art style and game design, but a mid-century modern aesthetic would be a great starting point.
About Us: Our company, Spy Squad HQ, is based in Mid Cornwall, and focuses on teaching positive mental health and well-being to children and young people through life skills. As a psychotherapist, I’m passionate about helping kids build emotional intelligence through innovative and engaging methods.
What We’re Looking For:
* Developer: Experience building point-and-click adventure games. Familiarity with inventory systems, simple UI, and interactive game objects.
* 2D Artist: Ability to create visually appealing, mid-century modern-inspired art, with a focus on vibrant, interactive environments.
Timeline:
The game is expected to be completed by April 2025 to align with our new product line launch.
Budget:
We are still working out the specifics and are open to discussing rates. We estimate this to be about a month’s work for both a developer and an artist, but we’d love to hear your thoughts on project scope, cost, and payment options.
How to Apply:
Please send your portfolio or relevant work along with your rates to Claire Randall (c@spysquadhq.com) with the subject line: Spy Video Game Application.
We can’t wait to see your work and explore how you can help us bring this exciting project to life!
