Reaside Forensic Medium Secure inpatient Team has a vacancy for a part time medical secretary to job share Medical Secretary to provide a comprehensive, reliable, confidential secretarial and admin service to support the Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Team. To ensure the smooth running of the team which includes: Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Specialist Registrar, Senior House Officer, Occupational Therapist, Senior Nurse, Community Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker and Pharmacist.
The successful applicant will need to possess a good general level of education with formal secretarial qualifications. Experience of being in a medical secretary role is essential. The successful applicant must possess the essential qualifications outlined in the attached personal specification.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work alongside another medical secretary as part of a job share, within a busy team providing a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and members of the multi disciplinary team.
* To maintain a rolling programme of CPA Case Conferences
* Ensuring that any correspondence from the Ministry of Justice is dealt with according to working practice as and when required.
* Oversee Ministry of Justice applications for leave
* Oversee that Section 17 leave forms are signed and returned
* Assist with the co-ordination of dates for Tribunal hearings and the distribution of reports.
* Maintaining diary management for the Consultant Psychiatrist
* Responsibility for all room bookings, ensuring that visitors to these meetings are received, refreshments are arranged
A good level of audio typing and medical terminology is essential. Knowledge of the Trust systems is desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work within a team.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level III in Business Admin or equivalent
* Evidence of IT skills - Microsoft Packages/Typing/ to level RSA II or equivalent
* GCSE English or above and ability to demonstrate excellent use of the English language/grammar
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and Information Governance
* Experience of providing secretarial support
* Experience of taking minutes
* Experience of working in an administrative role within the NHS

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
