We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide vital support in specialist settings across Nottingham. We are looking for compassionate candidates who have experience working wth children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:
- Have experience working with children or young people with a broad range of SEND, including autism spectrum conditions, moderate to severe learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, specific genetic conditions, physical disabilities, communication and language challenges, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Are committed to fostering students' emotional, social, and academic growth.
- Demonstrate a positive, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting students with moderate learning difficulties, severe learning disabilities, complex medical conditions, physical disabilities, Down's Syndrome, hearing and/or visual impairments, and Autism.
- Can assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons while maintaining a calm and supportive classroom environment.
- Are confident in providing one-on-one or small group support for students with varying needs.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, grade C or above.
- Additional qualifications or experience in special educational needs (SEN).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of strategies to support children with a wide range of SEND, including autism spectrum conditions, moderate to severe learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, specific genetic conditions, physical disabilities, communication and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Ability to maintain focus and positivity in a dynamic school setting.
