Project Manager
£55.00 - £72.57 per hour
Morson have an exciting and varied opportunity to support one of our defence clients as a project manager within the strategic planning team involved with the production of marine vehicles. They are currently going through the customer proposal stage and would like support from a senior project manager with experience of working in a bid management environment within the Aerospace, Defence or Marine industries.
The role is being offered on a 12-month contract, hybrid working is available with a minimum requirement of 3 days a week on site in Barrow-in-Furness. There is an opportunity for extension or permanent conversion and can offer the role at a rate £55 per hour PAYE or £72.57 per hour Umbrella.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the development of forward-looking plans for the programme.
2. Develop the detailed scope and plans for the next phase of the programme reporting into the Strategic Planning Lead and Bid Manager on progress and forecasting against the bid plan.
3. Input to a Customer proposal.
4. Manage risks and opportunities.
5. Drive schedule enablement and performance.
6. Ensure essential procedures are followed based on your knowledge of Project Management.
7. Responsible for shaping the forward plans and schedule for the programme building on existing planning.
8. Responsible for compiling a detailed and coherent work breakdown structure and associated assumptions, exclusions and dependencies.
Essential Requirements:
1. Experienced Project Manager with extensive knowledge of tools, techniques and practices.
2. Able to follow established procedures as well as know when to break from them to problem solve.
3. Experience of operating in a bid management/customer proposal focused project within an Aerospace, Defence, Marine or Nuclear environment.
4. Developed communication and diplomacy skills with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Able to understand and follow policies, procedures and business plan.
6. Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
Desired Requirements:
1. University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
2. Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
3. Experience across the project lifecycle of both business winning and in-service support.
4. Been involved with a project where the MoD is the primary customer.
