As a specialist lead midwife you will be joining and leading a well-established antenatal and newborn screening team responsible for delivery of high standard programmes of care.
You will oversee the service and will ensure that the failsafe processes in place continue to meet the needs of the service. You will work collaboratively with the Matron and the Lead Midwife for antenatal clinic to ensure a seamless safe, efficient service.

Main duties of the job
As a registered midwife you will lead on the antenatal and newborn screening service. Working within Trust, National Screening committee and NHS England guidelines you will be responsible for delivery and reporting of the standards set by the ANNB screening programmes and public health agenda, taking into account equality and diversity.
Education and support of colleagues is vital and as such you will be responsible for ensuring delivery of training programmes on e.g. antenatal and newborn Screening.
The post holder will report internally and externally always maintaining adherence to the governance framework.
Attendance at, and participation in meetings is expected.
You will support the leadership team and be expected to maintain professional standards at all times.
Maintaining clinical practice is a crucial part of this role with flexibility and engagement.
