Outline of the role
As a Site Engineer you will primarily be involved in the daily inspection of the quality of the work completed onsite. Alongside the site team, you will initiate continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. This will ensure the customers’ expectations are met, whilst aligning activities within industry standards.
There are two opportunities available working on our Windfarm projects, located in Wick & Kilgallioch.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Building strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub-contractors.
* Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
* Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork, etc.
* Providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
* Being responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
* Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and ensuring that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
* Ensuring the workforce understands setting out information that has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
* Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control to ensure the accurate construction of the work.
* Taking a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site.
* Coordinating and supervising temporary works as required.
* Implementing a regime of test and inspection plans for all works on site.
Your required Skills and Experience
* Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical knowledge of engineering and best practices.
* Previous experience in one or more of Roads & Bridges, Water, Marine, or Energy.
* Familiarity with RAMS and 3-day look up.
* Working knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office suite.
* Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD.
* Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills.
* An appropriate and valid CSCS / CSR card.
* Full Manual UK Driving License.
