Your Eastbourne BID Limited represents over 600 businesses and delivers a whole host of projects aimed at supporting the town centre. Job Function:
Your Eastbourne BID’s Town Ambassador service fulfils an advisory role and is vital for reviewing the town's visitor experience and economy. Ambassadors are trained to impart practical information about all sites of visitor interest, including: shopping, hospitality services and experiential projects taking place within the Eastbourne BID geographical area.
The role requires in person professional interactions with both visitors and businesses on a day-to-day basis. Ambassadors also carry out an important function as the primary point of contact between BID Levy payers and the BID Team; with over 600 businesses/organisations within the BID Area, Ambassadors are required to familiarise themselves with the many varied businesses/organisations within the BID Area.
Ambassadors are also required to have an outstanding knowledge of Eastbourne which enables them to provide guidance and assistance to those who visit and use the town, from national and international visitors to residents of the town and surrounding areas. Once selected for the role; training will be provided.
Core Responsibilities:
* To maintain regular contact with BID levy payers and relay information to the BID team
* To present a warm welcome and positive view of the town centre
* To keep up to date with and provide visitors with accurate information about the town centre, and retail offers
* To carry out specific liaison duties as required by the BID management or its partners as requested by the BID team
* To make the BID aware of any retail venue openings or closures within the BID area
* To forge relationships with town centre partners including action on health and safety issues, graffiti, failed streetlights, sharps, street defects, suspicious behaviour, begging etc
* To signpost vulnerable people, including those who are sleeping rough, towards support services. Where it is safe and relevant to do so – build relationships with rough sleepers or those engaged in street activity to support them into services
* To contribute to the provision of an extensive and daily presence around the town in all weathers, to maximise contact with businesses in the area
* Assistance in reduction of business crime, particularly with regards to intelligence and reporting. This will be non-confrontational, and will not involve enforcement
Skills, Experience and Abilities
You should be able to demonstrate:
* Experience in a busy customer service environment
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage your own busy workload
* Self motivation
* Effective listening and observational skills, with an ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
* SIA trained or willing to be
* A passion for Eastbourne

Pay: £20,820.00-£23,000.00 per year
