This is a key role within the finance team. The Management Accountant will chiefly focus on financial reporting (monthly and statutory), regulatory reporting, and other duties as required by the Group Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, and Senior Management. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and Operational Finance, the candidate will need to be able to work well in a small team and perform well under pressure. This is a fast-paced role, and will present its own challenges in delivering the requirements of the stakeholders within deadlines. The candidate will also be required to interact daily with other finance functions to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
Location: Hybrid with our Nightingale House office, Taunton (TA1) minimum 3 days a week in office, (with potential 6 for occasional travel to other locations when required)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday) between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm. The majority of your hours will be worked during core business hours.
What you will be doing:
* Support the Group Finance Director and Group Financial Controller in driving financial performance through value-added insight in management reporting and analysis through the provision of value-add, quality financial and non-financial information.
* Lead the process of continuous improvement of the financial and management accounting systems to make sure they are used in an optimal way.
* Financial analysis of clients, suppliers, and competitors.
* Preparation and presentation of Monthly Management Accounts, including all journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations including Group Consolidated Accounts.
* Production and analysis of P&L & Balance sheet with insightful commentary and analysis.
* Management of Cashflow forecast & Bank reconciliations.
* Support annual budgets and reforecasts.
* Lead, manage and support the Annual Audit.
* Preparation of statutory returns, such as ONS Forms, CIS, VAT.
What we need from you:
* Have experience in a similar Management Accountant position.
* Excellent working knowledge of financial systems.
* Knowledge of financial processes and procedures.
