The post holder would be a team player, able to bring their skills and gifts with integrity - working autonomously while remaining open and reflexive as they work together within the team. The majority of this role is focused on delivering music therapy clinical sessions to adults with a learning disability in the community and at times on an inpatient assessment and treatment ward. The post holder would also support and shape service development with the team to meet the ever-changing needs of the population, with person-centred focus, co-production, best practice, and evaluation at the heart of the work. Supervision skills and provision of CPD and training to other professions are a requirement of this post.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide highly specialised music therapy assessment, intervention, and recommendations to adults with a learning disability, often with complex presenting circumstances including mental and physical health issues and trauma. The role includes collaborative work with other professionals including advice and consultation, reflective practice, and clinical formulation. We aim to offer a tailored approach to service delivery, offering therapy in the community, in clinic, and online as appropriate to service user needs and preferences. We value co-productive collaboration with people with a learning disability highly, and this informs our service planning. This post offers opportunities for inpatient and community clinical work, with a wide range of referral reasons, requiring a dynamic and creative approach. Supervision and creative supervision processes are an integral part of our work, supporting and transforming the care we provide with good outcomes.
This post is Fixed Term/Secondment until February 2026 due to maternity cover.
If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
