Job summary An excellent opportunity has arisen within the International and Private Patient Services Division, for an enthusiastic and well-organised Overseas Visitors Officer. You will need to identify non-entitled overseas visitors and ensure charges are correctly applied, as appropriate.You must be able to prioritise conflicting workloads and have an in-depth understanding of Department of Health and Social Care guidelines for the treatment of non-entitled patients. You will also be required to keep up to date with current legislation via the Department of Health and Social Care / Immigration Authorities and ensure such legislation is implemented, as appropriate. In addition, you will be required to support the Private Patient Co-ordinator on an adhoc basis to cover annual leave/sickness. Main duties of the job The NHS Overseas Visitors Officer has the responsibility to: Ensure that all NHS Overseas Visitors attending the hospital are identified, interviewed and given accurate information about their eligibility for NHS treatment. Ensure that invoices for liable charges are processed efficiently and on a timely basis. Promote awareness of the service throughout the hospital. The post holder must have excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure in what is a highly sensitive and often difficult environment. The post holder will be expected to provide general administrative and financial support commensurate with the grade within the International & Private Patient Services team, as directed.
