Job Purpose:
You will be supporting the Risk Manager in increasing the influence and maturity of the Risk Function. Under the direction of the Risk Manager, you will be comfortable working with different parts of the business and will be confident presenting conclusions.
As a risk professional you will be supporting a growing and ambitious risk function driving improvement in Enterprise Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will be a mixture of supporting existing deliverables and developing new capabilities.
Current deliverables include:
* Preparation of Risk Owner dashboards.
* Risk and Control Owner reviews.
* Assist with the drafting of risk reports for various meetings and committees.
* Risk incidents reporting and analysis.
* Assist in horizon scanning and production of the emerging risk report.
* Other ad hoc duties.
Future deliverables may include:
* Implement and support deployment of the new Risk Management System.
* Developing reporting capability within the Risk Function using the new Risk Management System.
* Help implement the key parts of the Risk Management Framework across the business.
Performance Objectives:
* Assisting in the production of scheduled committee and other risk reports, including the required MI.
* Assisting the Risk Manager with conducting Risk Register Reviews with risk and control owners.
* Assisting with the oversight of the Operational Resilience Office.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
* Educated to degree level in a related subject e.g. Social Sciences, Business/Finance, Mathematics etc.
* Strong written and communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong ability to interpret, analyse and visualise data within Excel.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Effectively operate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
* Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
* At least two years' experience in the insurance or wider financial services industry (preferably insurance).
Desirable:
* Experience with risk management software.
* Experience within a Risk/ Quality Assurance or similar role.
* Working understanding of the Insurance industry.
