As the Resident Engineering Team Leader you will lead a team of Engineers and Technicians responsible for the maintenance of a fully automated distribution system. You will be the primary point of contact to the customer concerning the day-to-day operations on site.
You will also lead all continuous improvement activities that underpin site performance and support the delivery of the maintenance strategy.
What you'll be handling
* Lead a team of Maintenance Engineers, Technicians and apprentices
* Co-ordinate all maintenance activities, planned repairs and reactive repairs of the automated equipment on site, both TGW and third party
* Support the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency ensuring that the customers’ orders are not missed
* Complete all necessary reports, inclusive of near miss and hazard reporting, shift, maintenance tasks, spare parts usage and toploss, whilst working in DART, CMMS, .SAV Assure and Teams software platforms
* Attend daily customer meetings providing any updates on the automation
* Cover the Site Engineering Manager during holiday and sickness periods
* Manage escalations onsite in line with TGW’s escalation procedure
* Ticket management for remote support
* Drive continuous improvement activities on site
* Be operationally minded with all decisions
* Promote health and safety onsite
* Comply to all current, future health and safety legislation at all times
What you'll need
Essential
* Minimum NVQ level 3/BTEC HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline
* Experience leading a leading team
* Strong Electrical and Mechanical maintenance engineering background
* Working knowledge of Siemens S7, Profibus, Canbus, Profinet and ASI Bus
* Proficient communication skills and customer focused
* Ability to work in a time critical environment
Desirable
* Previous experience working within Materials Handling Equipment
* Experience working in maintenance within logistics environments
