Job Title: Part-Time KS2 Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Christchurch
Salary: Teacher Scale (MPS/UPS)
Start Date: January 2025
Are you looking for a part-time teaching position where you can make a real impact?
GSL Education are excited to offer a part-time teaching role in Christchurch for January 2025 to the end of the academic year. We are seeking passionate primary school teachers who are ready to engage young learners, foster a positive environment, and support diverse needs. This role is ideal for teachers who are adaptable, driven, and keen to maintain a flexible work-life balance. If you are based in Bournemouth, it would be helpful to have a driving license to enable you to get to the school easily.
The school is a small mainstream primary school with a warm and welcoming staff team. Each year group consists of one class and a supportive teaching assistant to support the class teacher. Within the class there are a range of abilities and additional needs, so any prior experience working with pupils with SEN or learning difficulties would be beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver Dynamic Lessons: Create and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of your students, encouraging participation and creativity.
* Nurture a Positive Learning Environment: Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all pupils feel valued and motivated to succeed.
* Manage Behaviour Effectively: Use proven behaviour management techniques to maintain a calm and focused learning space.
* Assess and Monitor Progress: Track student progress and provide meaningful feedback to help guide their development.
* Collaborate with Colleagues and Parents: Work closely with school staff and communicate with parents to ensure the well-being and academic success of your pupils.
What We Are Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE): A recognised teaching qualification is essential.
* Primary School Experience: Experience working in primary schools is preferred but not essential (placements during training will be considered).
* Curriculum Knowledge: A good understanding of the primary curriculum and a range of teaching strategies.
* SEN Experience (Beneficial): Experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEN) is helpful but not required.
* Driving Licence (Beneficial): While not essential, being able to drive will make it easier for you to travel, especially if you are based in Bournemouth or the surrounding areas.
* Passion for Education: We’re looking for teachers who are enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality education.
To work with GSL Education as an Experienced Teaching Assistant, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
