Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is set in beautiful grounds, conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with good local public transport links.
Our unique range of services gives our colleagues the opportunity to develop skills and experience of working with a broad range of mental health conditions across four mental health service lines, across the hospital’s seven wards.
Woodbourne hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services. These include acute and psychiatric intensive care services for adults. A specialist adult Eating Disorder service and a private addictions service. Across seven wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.
Job Advert Role Description
The successful candidate will take an active role in
1. Overseeing and delivering an efficient and effective maintenance service within a Priory site to assist in the well-being, comfort and safety of patients, colleagues and visitors and ensures adherence to the General Property Maintenance Guide.
2. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of general maintenance jobs as required with particular focus on ensuring that patient related jobs are completed as a priority.
3. Other responsibilities will include ensuring that all local maintenance checks are carried out at the intervals as prescribed in the General Property Maintenance Guide and reporting any issues to the Support Services Manager and the Hospital Director. Establishing local relationships with contractors, liaising with local contractors at site as required providing local knowledge and guidance so planned and preventative maintenance can be completed in a timely fashion.
4. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the team is working efficiently, planning workloads, and continue to develop new skills within the department.
5. Effective communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required are a necessity and must be flexible and be able to adapt to all maintenance issues when they arise.
Applicants must have:
6. Experience gained within a facilities, operational, trade or maintenance role.
7. Experience with, Plumbing, Door hanging, First fix, Second Fix. Part P desirable.
8. Sound written and verbal communication skills
9. Demonstrate good financial and commercial awareness
10. Good computer skills ( Microsoft package)
11. Knowledge of health and safety practices and legislation
