Property Assistant – Ground Rent
Our client manages the ground rent portfolio division on behalf of other freehold-owning entities. They own and manage more than 100,000 residential leasehold titles across the UK, acting as long-term stewards to these properties and providing vital professional management for leaseholders in exchange for annual ground rent.
Our Client Services Team provides a knowledgeable, helpful, friendly customer services experience. The successful individual will be responsible for engaging with leaseholders, solicitors, and mortgage companies by telephone and email. This role requires a can-do attitude and a desire to make a difference, as well as a need to develop technical knowledge of the sector and relevant legislation.
About the role of Property Assistant (Ground Rent)
1. Banking cheques/verifying batches BACS payments
2. Dealing with all genres of calls regarding ground rent
3. Handling ground rent complaints via letter/emails
4. Direct debit process – set up/cancellations/queries/collection
5. Liaising with solicitors dealing with property sales
6. Liaising with solicitors on leaseholder disputes
7. Taking payments over the phone and via the HSBC Global Iris system
8. Liaising with mortgage companies regarding breaches of leases
9. Arranging payment plans with leaseholders
10. Referring files to solicitors for further arrears recovery
11. Preparing ground rent conveyancing packs
12. Sending fees letters & emails
13. Handling solicitors fees letter disputes
14. Any other work as assigned by the manager
Minimum Requirements
Candidates for the role of Property Assistant must have:
1. Proven administration experience
2. Strong customer service skills
3. Excellent organisational skills
4. Ability to prioritise own workload
5. Work to deadlines
6. Be proactive
7. Be a team player
