Role Overview:
We have an exciting newly created Senior Leadership position available, as Head of Information Technology. A unique opportunity to fulfil a critical role with our IT requirements arising as Laings business navigates the post-acquisition integration of our IT systems and databases. Providing end-to-end management of our IT systems and infrastructure, this position will ensure the development and delivery of our IT capability.
Our opportunity is for a versatile Technology leader who will relish the prospect to ‘make their mark’ and direct all aspects of the IT function, this will include taking ownership for the development and implementation of an IT strategy aligned with Laings business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the ‘go-live’ of a major technology transformation programme, modernising our core systems and supporting continued business growth.
2. Collaborate with business Leadership to develop an IT Strategy encompassing applications, infrastructure, cloud, and cyber security processes.
3. Ensure the ongoing development and delivery of IT and cyber security services.
4. Collaborate with internal IT colleagues and application delivery partners to define the future IT organisation.
Laings Technology:
1. Our Laings Technology landscape will be centred on Salesforce (Sales, Service and Marketing Clouds), Sage X3 ERP platform and Microsoft 365.
2. Infrastructure includes on-premises Hyper V/Windows Server platform plus Azure hosting.
About You:
As our Head of IT, you must be equally comfortable in a boardroom setting as with adopting a hands-on approach when collaborating with technicians to resolve issues as they arise. Partnering with our leadership key stakeholders is essential to the role and will require elevating senior-level understanding of the costs and implications of IT development and delivery, as well as the opportunities it enables or creates.
Skills and Experience:
1. Previously held Head of Function roles in IT or a portfolio of department level leadership and technical roles.
2. Technical, architectural or leadership experience with Salesforce and ERP systems.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Infrastructure platforms (on premise and Azure).
4. A sound understanding of Cyber Security requirements.
5. A demonstrable track record of project and service delivery via third party suppliers.
6. Experience in development of third-party contracts, SLAs, KPIs.
7. Experience working alongside senior business management.
8. Proven leadership: ability to inspire and influence business leaders.
9. Experience in supplier management and effective collaboration.
10. Sound project management skills: delivery on time and to budget.
11. Developed service management skills: familiarity with ITIL.
12. Sound IT risk management experience.
13. Tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology related field.
