Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts and Customer Services Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting both our accounts and customer services functions, with a particular focus on managing the purchase ledger, reconciling supplier accounts, and assisting with customer care and enquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong numerical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of basic accounting processes.
Responsibilities
Accounts:
* Assist with managing and maintaining the purchase ledger.
* Input purchase invoices into the accounting system accurately and on time.
* Reconcile supplier statements with internal accounts and resolve discrepancies.
* Obtain missing invoices and follow up with suppliers where necessary.
* Review and check credit card and corporate card transactions, ensuring receipts and invoices are obtained and matched accordingly.
* Assist with month-end processes and other ad hoc accounting tasks as required.
Customer Services:
* Provide support to customers via email and phone, addressing queries, concerns, and issues in a professional and friendly manner.
* Process customer orders, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
* Maintain and update customer records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
* Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve any service or product issues promptly.
* Assist with customer queries, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
* GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Skills & Attributes:
* Numeric with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems.
* Strong communication skills, particularly with customers and suppliers.
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Accurate and thorough in handling accounts and customer information.
* Positive attitude and a customer-focused approach.
* Be flexible and willing to pick up new tasks.
* Experience in Sage accounting or similar accounting software.
* Experience working in an office environment, preferably in an accounts or customer service capacity.
* Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
