Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our client within the Construction Industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable, and utilising accounting Sage software.
Duties:
1. Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
2. Reconcile entries and maintain accurate ledgers
3. Process accounts payable and receivable using appropriate accounting software
4. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
5. Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
6. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
7. Handle confidential information in a secure and professional manner
8. Maintain fixed-asset register including additions & disposals, preparation & posting of monthly depreciation & agreeing to P&L / balance sheet
9. Agree monthly payroll nominal report & post journal
10. Month-end reporting, assisting the Management team in preparation of statutory accounts
11. Monthly P&L reviews, budgets & forecasts
12. Assisting with preparing detailed monthly P&L & balance sheet reports
13. Preparation of cashflow statements & controlling expenditure / cash flow for various companies
14. Credit control and management of credit limits
15. Knowledge of the Construction Industry (CIS)
16. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable
Requirements:
1. Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
2. Proficiency in using Sage
3. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
4. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
5. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
6. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
