About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of Religion, Ethics & Philosophy (REP) to join our dynamic department within a thriving North West London school. Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and thought-provoking lessons across the REP curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with national requirements. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and encourage students to participate in open and respectful discussions. Foster an appreciation for different religions, philosophies, and ethical viewpoints, promoting tolerance and understanding. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the REP curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in REP pedagogy. Stay abreast of current trends in religious and philosophical thought, integrating them into your lessons to foster critical thinking and engagement. Building Relationships: Build strong and positive relationships with students, encouraging them to explore their own beliefs and values in a safe and supportive environment. Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies). Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular activities related to REP (e.g., debating clubs, philosophy clubs, religious studies societies). School Community: Actively participate in departmental and whole-school events, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified REP teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering a love of learning. Excellent subject knowledge across Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy, and a passion for exploring these subjects with students. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. A commitment to creating a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that respects all viewpoints. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
