What you’ll be doing
Reporting into the Senior Project Engineer (Delivery), the Project Coordinator will provide technical and operational expertise to deliver Network Investment projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and license obligations for the electricity distribution network. This role involves close collaboration with design and development teams, Framework Partners, and other key stakeholders, including local authorities, to deliver projects necessary for modernising and growing our network capacity within budget and timelines.
Additionally, the role includes managing site construction aspects to ensure safety and quality compliance, coordinating all project aspects assigned by the Project Leader or Senior Engineer, and assisting in the design and delivery of the works in collaboration with the Engineer or Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver district targets & milestones outputs in line with financial, regulatory, and business plan objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
* Support delivery of planned & reactive outputs and ensure network resilience is maintained through active customer and stakeholder engagement.
* Drive robust project plans from the team to facilitate business deliverables in line with district and licence plans, minimising outages to customers.
* Ensure efficient and effective delivery of operational performance targets, demonstrating changes to drive improvements where appropriate.
* Drive continual performance improvement through analysis of process & outputs, working closely with the central licence teams to understand programme position & risks.
* Integrate asset stewardship and ownership values through sound engineering principles and coordinated planning and delivery activities.
* Support & develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours amongst the team through mentoring and training of all team members, graduates, and trainees.
* Lead the integration of Operational Excellence principles in all undertakings.
* Ensure accurate and timely capture and recording of data within corporate systems.
* Responsibility for the quality and financial assurance of projects delivered by the team.
* Contribute to robust governance & commercial rigor around any turn-key deliverables provided by service partners.
* Establish and maintain suitable governance within the team to track programme position with consideration to both district targets & milestones and unit costs.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate as minimum:
* Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience within electrical, utilities or the construction sector.
* Proven experience in the delivery & project management of engineering projects, including both planned & reactive works.
* Solid computer literacy and the ability to use various Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
* Willingness to travel to sites as required.
You’ll also bring:
* Understanding of Energy Networks policies, procedures, and working practices.
* Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
* Developed customer service skills.
* Knowledge of network and the network management systems.
* Contract management skills and general commercial & regulatory awareness.
* Developed negotiation, communication, and people management skills.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
