Legal Accounts Manager, Surrey, £competitive, 3 years' experience required, part time or full time considered, office based.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a traditional, full-service law firm with two busy offices in Surrey and Greater London, where working closely as a team and providing exceptional client care are a priority. The successful candidate will work closely with and report to the Partners and will supervise Legal Cashiers and Office Juniors.
THE CANDIDATE
The firm is looking for someone to join the finance team to oversee and manage the day-to-day cashiering, book-keeping and accounting across its two offices, and to oversee more junior members of the team.
The ideal candidate will:
1. have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role,
2. have detailed up-to-date knowledge and understanding of SRA's Accounts rules,
3. be AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part qualified and/or working towards ILFM qualification,
4. have the ability to work to deadlines, and
5. be conscientious and pay attention to detail.
THE ROLE
Your responsibilities will include:
1. preparing the annual budget,
2. preparing monthly management accounts,
3. cashflow forecasting including preparing reports for fee earners to chase outstanding debts,
4. acting as first point of contact for the firm's auditors including preparing year-end schedules,
5. maintaining the firm's chart of accounts,
6. VAT returns,
7. monthly payroll,
8. daily bank account reconciliations for both client and office accounts including monthly bank reconciliation reports, and
9. providing and delivering consequential information for financial and other providers.
