Job Opportunity
Star Energy has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer. The main functions of this position include:
1. Maintain safety standards in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements to ensure the provision of an environment in which staff and visitors can perform their duties without detriment to themselves, the environment or company property.
2. Support delivery of operational and project electrical, control and instrumentation engineering activities, including vendor and contractor management.
3. Conduct engineering surveys for new installations, site upgrades and for the removal or replacement of EC&I Equipment.
4. Design EC&I systems including Functional Safety, and the associated documentation using standard software packages (Microsoft Office, Smartdraw, Autosketch, AutoCAD).
5. Prepare support documentation, training materials and training for end users.
6. Conduct the Installation & Commissioning of EC&I Equipment.
7. Apply software engineering across EC&I systems, including Allen Bradley (Compact GuardLogix), TBox Programming (Twinsoft), Pilz Programming (PNOZ Configurator), Network Device setup (Various Software and GUI’s).
8. Maintain the Company SCADA system (Inductive Automation Ignition).
9. Carry out fault finding investigative techniques across EC&I systems and equipment.
10. Practice good cybersecurity techniques and encourage correct use of IT and C&I Equipment.
11. Report and progress fault resolution via IT support contractor (Bedroq).
12. Responsible for conducting maintenance & integrity activities in compliance with the company Major Accident Hazard (MAH) processes and procedures.
Competencies
* A recognised qualification in Electrical, Control or Instrument Engineering e.g. HNC or Degree.
* Knowledge of Oil & Gas Operations and hazardous areas is desirable.
* Engineering documentation knowledge, including block diagrams, PFDs, SLDs, P&IDs, C&E charts, Schematics, Wiring drawings, Data Sheets and safety critical elements.
* Experience and the ability to design and implement industrial-based control systems.
* Experience of communication devices.
* Experience of working with various SCADA platforms especially for the Oil & Gas industry.
* A good understanding of basic programming, ladder logic, scripting and SQL database.
* A basic understanding of Cybersecurity.
* Competent in the configuration of Modbus serial and Modbus TCP communications.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
