This full-time role begins in March and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance. About the Role: This position is perfect for a psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with young people in an educational setting. It is particularly well-suited for individuals aspiring to a career in educational psychology, teaching, or mental health support. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for students, particularly those with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) difficulties, or other special educational needs (SEN). Assist in implementing strategies to help students manage emotions, develop resilience, and build self-confidence. Work closely with classroom teachers to support lesson delivery, ensuring all students can engage effectively with the curriculum. Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) by offering insights into student progress and needs. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters emotional well-being and academic achievement. Support students in accessing learning resources, participating in activities, and overcoming barriers to success. Assist in monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teachers. Collaborate with external agencies and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students' development. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will: Hold a degree in Psychology or a related field. Have a keen interest in child development, mental health, and education. Be empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting young people. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be proactive and adaptable, able to respond effectively to individual student needs. Prior experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable but not essential.
