* *Job Description**
This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week or part-time for a minimum of 28 hours per week. Flexible or compressed working patterns available Monday to Friday. This role is based in the office. Want to use your health and safety experience to support national security? Passionate about creating a proactive safety culture to improve the workplace? You’ll work at the heart of the organisation to collaborate with delivery teams, managers and leaders, influencing and evolving safe processes and procedures to support cutting-edge technologies. Your role will be essential in leading a proactive safety culture that empowers engineers to achieve excellence without compromising on wellbeing. Your existing knowledge of working in a manufacturing and engineering environment will enable you to work effectively across our advanced manufacturing facility and cutting-edge technology teams and capabilities, all the while working on projects critical to protecting national security. You’ll provide a partnership approach working closely with delivery teams and senior managers to ensure people are operating effectively in a safe environment. With the support of an external team to provide specialist advice and guidance, as well as high-level policy, you’ll be maintaining, developing and implementing processes and policy, allowing you to really make a difference to delivery. You will be an integral member of the site-wide Safety Health and Wellbeing working group; managing risks and leading on project work to address opportunities and concerns. As such, you’ll effectively communicate with people at all levels of the business, providing clear messaging on Health and Safety priorities and performance. As part of supporting continual improvement, you will work with teams addressing audit recommendations, supporting implementation of change where needed and feeding in awareness of legislative changes. **More About You** To apply for this role, you will already have:
* Experience of using health, safety and environmental management systems.
* An understanding of current legislation and standards e.g. UK HSE regulations, ISO 45001 standards.
* Membership of one or more recognised Health and Safety professional bodies e.g. IIRSM, CIEH, IOSH, BOHS or other relevant professional associations.
To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:
* Experience of working in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
* Knowledge of DSEAR andor CoSHH regulations.
* Continuous Improvement experience (5S, Kaizen, 8D etc.).
* NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.

**Putting Your Skills to Use** Using your diverse range of skills across our diverse organisation, you will:
* Monitor relevant environmental regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
* Manage CoSHHSypol systems & implement risk assessments.
* Actively support H&S walk-arounds & audits.
* Cohere relevant documentation and records to provide assurance on health and safety.
* Provide coaching and support around risk and PUWER assessments, ensuring that assessments are current and effectively implemented.
* Build relationships with key stakeholders and other business areas including the first aid cadre, Estates teams and H&S representatives across site.
* Identify, source and record training related to health and safety.
