The successful candidate will be responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of all the company’s BESS assets, including our growing fleet which is planned to become 4 x 11kW and circa 1,000 x 440V installations located across the UK. The role will involve: Managing the Operations and Maintenance for the AMP BESS fleet in line with company HSEQ policies and procedures and best practice guidance governing electrical and BESS systems Ensuring that the BESS fleet is operated in accordance with contractual requirements including achieving capacity and availability guarantees Ensuring planned maintenance requirements are being completed to maintain fleet availability in accordance with contractual obligations and manufacturers specifications Conducting regular quality and health and safety audits for direct staff and sub-contractors in line with our IS0 9001 quality management policy Reviewing and approving all planned and reactive maintenance reports, and ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance activities are recorded in our online service system Triaging BESS fleet daily - ensuring rapid response and rectification to plant failure Recruitment, retention and management of our team of BESS Field Service Engineers Planning and prioritising workload of BESS Field Service Engineers and managing out of hours call out rota Management of sub-contractors and suppliers (including internal suppliers) to ensure a high level of performance in relation to Health and Safety, quality, budget and asset performance Managing the overall BESS Operations and Maintenance budget and ensure spend is in line with budget targets Overseeing compliance in relation to HV works and be main contact person for our HV specialist sub-contractor and ensuring HV maintenance inspection are regularly completed and recorded for the 11kW sites Managing acceptance process of new sites from the Project team into the Operations and Maintenance team. What we are looking for: A highly organised and driven individual who has demonstrable experience of working with HV, and has the following knowledge, skills and experience – Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field Health & Safety Awareness, IOSH or equivalent Strong team management experience and skills, with the ability to lead service engineers and technicians Commitment to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and compliance Ability to provide clear technical reports and service updates Quick decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong technical knowledge of battery technologies Proven experience in managing service operations for BESS, renewable energy, or power systems. Experience in preparing performance monthly reports, and presenting performance metrics and KPIs Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to industry challenges.
