Overview of project/role
To support the Retail Merchandiser in the effective stock management of all products across the London Transport Museum (LTM) retail businesses, ensuring levels meet demand and are within stock holding budgets while maximizing sales and margin targets. The role is also responsible for producing daily, weekly, and periodic reporting to update the rest of the retail team on sales performance and other key metrics.
Key Accountabilities
1. Support the Merchandiser to deliver agreed financial objectives including sales, profit, margin, and stock-holding targets.
2. Assist the Merchandiser in producing daily sales updates for the retail team, weekly and periodic sales, profit & stock reports to inform the retail and finance teams of performance.
3. Produce ad-hoc reporting and information as required by the wider Retail Team.
4. Assist the Merchandiser in the day-to-day management and housekeeping of LTM's Electronic Point Of Sale (EPOS) system "Futura" including setting up promotions, actioning price changes, and maintaining item attributes.
5. Support the Merchandiser in producing the retail Weekly Sales Stock & Intake (WSSI) report and stock tracker, monitoring available Open To Buy (OTB) levels, and helping to ensure stock targets are met.
6. Monitor stock levels in all branches, considering upcoming promotional activity & seasonal trends, and produce pick lists for the depot team to create interbranch stock transfers.
7. Manage and analyze weekly stock checks and the annual stock take, suggesting continuous improvements to processes, reducing stock loss, and improving stock accuracy.
8. Work closely with the Retail Stock Assistant in Covent Garden to address under or over stock issues, ensuring stock availability is maintained at 95% or more in all branches.
9. Following range sign-offs by the Buying & Merchandising (B&M) team, place initial orders with suppliers, update the new product tracker/critical path, and provide setup information to our 3rd party online fulfillers.
10. Review continuity product performance and propose orders to the Merchandiser to ensure stock availability.
11. Review retail stock invoices, update the EPOS system, and pass approved invoices for payment.
12. Chase suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, updating the EPOS system and new product tracker if dates change.

Knowledge
1. Good level of IT/computer skills including a working knowledge of email, Internet, MS Word, and Excel - essential.

3. Understanding of the high street and cultural retail market – desirable.
Experience
1. Previous demonstrable experience of working within a Merchandising role in a Retail Head Office environment - essential.
2. Experience in a highly commercial and results-driven environment - essential.
3. Previous experience in the use of EPOS systems – desirable.
