User Researcher Contract - 6 months Paying up to £600 Inside IR35 Remote with occasional travel As a User Researcher, your role will involve: Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and fellow User Researchers to plan and execute impactful research that deepens our understanding of users' needs and behaviors. Contributing to the creation of products and services that genuinely address user problems and enhance their experience. Leading research efforts within your team, advising on the most effective methods and techniques for gathering valuable user insights. Organizing and conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, including remote and in-person interviews, diary studies, usability testing, and concept evaluations. Leveraging surveys and other quantitative methods to extract actionable insights and partnering with analytics teams to enrich your findings. Considering the entire user journey, as well as external factors such as business objectives, policy implications, and technical limitations that may influence the user experience. Effectively presenting research findings and collaborating with your team to analyze and synthesize data, fostering a deep empathy for users and supporting data-driven design decisions. Promoting the integration of user-centered design practices and research standards across your team and the broader organization. Skills and Experience Youll Bring: Proven experience leading user research, utilizing both behavioral and attitudinal methods, with a clear understanding of when to apply each approach. A solid background working across various stages of a product or service lifecycle, from discovery and exploration to design and delivery. Familiarity with the Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and GDS design principles. Strong communication and storytelling abilities, with a knack for managing stakeholders and facilitating workshops or discussions. Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams where your user research has directly influenced the design and development of products and services. Comfortable using prototypes to test assumptions, hypotheses, and validate user journeys. Knowledge of various tools and techniques for conducting both in-person and remote research.
