Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Head Baker.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Head Baker. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment with strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
* Team leading: Leading a team of over 10 staff.
* Baking operations: direct and oversee the baking and production of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
* Recipe development: develop and create new recipes while ensuring consistency and high-quality standards.
* Quality control: maintain strict quality standards for all baked goods produced.
* Inventory management: manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet production demands
* Scheduling: create and maintain baking schedules to ensure all orders are completed on time.
* Compliance: ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
* Cost management: monitor expenses and control costs to maximize profitability.
* Customer service: collaborate with the sales department to address customer feedback and special orders..
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Head Baker or in a similar role within a restaurant or kitchen environment.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques related to baking.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a high-pressure setting.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* A creative mindset with an eye for detail in presentation and flavour combinations.
* Familiarity with food preparation and production processes is essential.
* Culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
* Salary - £60,000 to £65,000
* 5 days a week
