Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated State-Registered Biomedical Scientists to join our friendly team in Microbiology as part of the Pathology department.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver what is required to achieve a safe, high quality and effective service whilst continuously striving for improvement. Following a period of training and competency assessments, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in early shift, day shift, late shift, on calls, bank holidays and weekend working.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* Registration with the HCPC
* Willing to undertake post graduate qualification e.g., Specialist Portfolio
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Experienced in clinical microbiology
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience of working as part of a team
* Flexible attitude to working hours
* Willingness to comply with departmental dress code
* Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in continued professional development
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in laboratory practice in medical Microbiology
* Experience with laboratory computer systems
* Willingness to take part in providing out of hours service
* Willing to develop advanced practitioner skills where relevant
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES)
* Ability to communicate at all levels both written and verbal with all levels of staff and the customers of the service
* To be able to deal with sensitive data in accordance with departmental and Trust guidelines

Salary: £29,970 to £44,962 per annum, pro rata
