Pharmacy Procurement and High Cost Medicines Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen within pharmacy services for a motivated individual to join our busy Pharmacy Procurement and High Cost Medicines Team.
We are looking for a committed, self-driven individual who has the ability to plan and co-ordinate their day-to-day activities within our busy department.
Our pharmacy service is provided across both our acute sites in Eastbourne and Hastings, and the post holder will be expected to work across sites. However, a designated base site will be assigned - and this post will have its main base at Eastbourne after the initial training period.
Main Duties of the Job
The main duties of this role involve supporting all activities involved in the procurement of medicines within the trust by working closely with the Pharmacy Procurement Manager and the wider Pharmacy team to ensure the Trust and Departmental objectives are met. You will take responsibility for the purchase of medicines for direct patient use and ward supply, involving chasing outstanding orders and sourcing alternative products to maintain supply of medicines for patients. You may assist in the processing of invoices for payment of pharmaceutical products for the Trust and the processing of credit notes and claims to companies for monies owed to the Trust.
The role further involves supporting the administration of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust's contracted High Cost Medicines and Homecare services by assisting in being a point of contact for the homecare provider service, providing assistance in the registration of patients with homecare service providers, and placing patient-specific homecare orders.
