The role
As a Senior Finance Consultant, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between complex financial requirements and SAP system capabilities. Your role involves gathering user business requirements and understanding the specific needs and functionalities of SAP product modules. You will not only define and document these requirements but also configure SAP to reflect them accurately in functional design specifications. Furthermore, you'll play a crucial role in setting up initial configurations, security settings relevant to finance, and customising reporting options. Your expertise will ensure that the finance processes and reporting capabilities are fully integrated and optimised within SAP, requiring you to provide ongoing functional support and collaborate closely with both technical teams and clients to enhance system performance and meet specific financial objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Gather and analyse user business requirements to understand key financial operations and needs.
2. Configure ERP modules to translate complex financial requirements into system functionalities.
3. Document business requirements and validate these solutions with clients to ensure alignment with their financial strategies.
4. Define initial system settings, including module-specific security parameters and financial reporting mechanisms.
5. Identify and recommend system modifications to improve financial processes and integration within the ERP system.
6. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for ERP financial modules to maintain system efficiency and accuracy.
7. Collaborate with technical teams and clients to resolve functional issues and adapt the ERP system to evolving financial needs.

As an experienced consultant, you demonstrate active listening skills, with the ability to empathise and build rapport with stakeholders who may possess a wide range of management styles and personal skills. You leverage these relationships to engage effectively and influence performance and positive outcomes, aligned with the objectives of the engagement.
You are a curious and creative thinker, willing to challenge preconceived ideas and conventions. You leverage your own expertise and that of others from across the team to develop specific, unique and innovative insight that forms the basis of potential solutions.
You have the ability to create high-quality deliverables which are tailored to meet the specific needs of the engagement and the nuances of your key stakeholders and their preferred methods of communication.
You lead by example, developing trusted relationships with team members, showing respect for individual differences and recognising contributions to overall performance. You encourage openness, team-wide communication and a collective sense of responsibility to deliver effectively and to the highest standards.
