We are working with a Tier 1 contractor who has a new build student accommodation scheme in Reading to recruit an experienced M&E Site or Project Manager to manage the self-delivery of the electrical and help oversee the mechanical packages.
The company has an excellent reputation in their chosen marketplace and maintains strong long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain. They also have a forward-thinking approach to staff engagement, offering opportunities to grow and develop your career.
The role involves taking full responsibility for the services packages, particularly the electrical installation, and working with the wider site team to manage the project from startup through to commissioning of the services.
The electrical element is being self-delivered by an in-house subcontractor and directly employed labor, which you will manage and supervise as a traditional package. Responsibilities include:
1. Prestarts and inductions
2. Daily site inspections
3. Progress reports
4. Dealing with technical queries
5. Call-off orders for plant and materials
6. Quality audits
7. Health and safety management
You will also have a watching brief over the mechanical subcontractor.
The role would ideally suit someone from either a main contractor or specialist subcontractor background, with experience in both mechanical and electrical services. Experience in delivery is an advantage. Ideally, candidates should be degree qualified, but we are also keen to consider individuals who have worked their way up from the tools.
The role is available as a long-term fixed-term contract (12 months) or the client would consider a freelance/contract position on a day rate basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business that values your opinion and expertise, offering you the chance to develop your career in the direction you want to take it. Please apply or get in touch for a more detailed conversation.
