Purpose of the role Colas are responsible for the eight-year Maintenance & Response contract for National Highways Area 9. The contract covers around 2,300 miles of Strategic Road Network within Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, and Shropshire, as well as parts of Gloucestershire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. We deliver cyclical maintenance, reactive maintenance, incident response, severe weather response and minor works in a region that has five strategically critical motorway interchange junctions, as well as being at the heart of the new HS2 network. Area 9 is a critical transport hub enabling customer journeys across the UK. Colas Ltd. have an exciting opportunity for someone to join as Business Support based at our Bescot office, WS1 4NL, please note this is a full time office role. You will be responsible for producing data and analytical reports to support the operational delivery of the Area 9 Contract including recording and monitoring reporting of all key performance indicators. They will provide administrative support to the operational teams including meetings and investigations. Main Responsibilities In this role as Business Support you will be able to co-ordinate the needs to the Central team, managing administrative support duties to ensure the day to day operations and duties are met by the team. Some of your duties will include but not be limited to the following: Provide motivation, and direction to the contract unit delivery team, provide departmental support in preparation of; monthly reports, business plans, presentations & ad hoc requested reports, you will write and issue minutes and ongoing action logs for any senior management team meeting, you will support purchasing and planning to ensure effective stock management, you will provide administrative support with all related on-boarding of new starters, H&S, Training and HR departmental reports and records, raise POs and task orders and manage any daily administrative tasks, for example typing, scanning/photocopying. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by line manager. You will ensure that all operations carried out within area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself and ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have a minimum A-C in English and Maths, a qualification in Business Admin is ideal not essential. Experience working in a similar Administration role is desirable, however we are also open to those who have the attitude and desire to learn the role. It is important for this role that you have a can-do attitude and willing to work with initiative. It is essential you have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You will also be proficient in using Microsoft office suites.
