Are you a compassionate and experienced tutor with a passion for supporting vulnerable children? We are seeking an SEMH Outreach Tutor to provide tailored educational support to students in Enfield who are dealing with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This role focuses on working one-to-one with vulnerable children who may have faced significant challenges and need extra guidance to succeed academically and emotionally. As an SEMH Outreach Tutor, you will deliver lessons in Maths, English, or Functional Skills, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
You will play a crucial role in helping students regain confidence in their learning abilities and develop essential skills in a safe, supportive environment.
- Provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths, English, or Functional Skills to students with SEMH needs.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
- Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and engagement.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure holistic support for the student.
- Minimum of 6 months' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or other vulnerabilities.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- PGCE in Maths or English or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Strong understanding of supporting students with mental health challenges.
- Compassionate and patient approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication skills to engage students and work collaboratively with families.
