Job Summary:
The Head of Transition and Service Design will lead a team dedicated to designing the end-to-end journey of a service. This helps users complete their goals and allows CTP to deliver a policy intent in relation to complex technical solutions. Your work will involve the creation or modification of transactions, products, and content across both digital and offline channels provided by different parts of CTP HQ and partner organizations.
The post holder will work flexibly on IT solutions within the DDaT and Change portfolios as required by the CTPHQ Head of Technology and may oversee multiple programmes/projects depending on their scale and complexity. Collaborative/joint Service Design/Transition activities with CT partner agencies may also be part of the role.
This role will work closely with the Head of Delivery, the Head of ICT, the ICT SLT, Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), Project Executives, Programme Directors, and other CTPHQ Unit Heads.
The Head of Service Design and Transition is an expert practitioner with broad industry experience, capable of defining and assuring best practices while influencing, leading, and mentoring others.
At this role level, you will:
1. Influence both design and organizational strategy and priorities.
2. Collaborate with counterpart colleagues across government.
3. Focus on ensuring the right conditions and environment for designers to work effectively.
This role is responsible for the planning and coordination of resources to ensure that services are effectively transitioned into service operation. You will be solely responsible for coordinating activities across projects, suppliers, and service teams.
The Technology Pillar operates under a matrix management model, so as a Band S Programme Manager, the post holder will directly line manage several Service Design and Transition SMEs (both contract and FTE).
