Maintenance Engineer
£38,000 Per Annum

Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm with a 1-hour lunch break
Full Time - Permanent
Our client is looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded, electrically biased maintenance engineer. Someone confident working on their own, as they are solely responsible for the repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
Day to Day Duties:
1. Being responsible for the repair and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and machinery.
2. Minimise factory lost time by organising plant maintenance and prompt attention to plant breakdowns.
3. Arrange maintenance of Laboratory & office equipment with prompt attention to breakdowns.
4. Ordering replacement parts.
5. Carrying out preventative maintenance.
6. Keeping records of all maintenance carried out.
7. Outsourcing work when repairs cannot be carried out in-house.
8. Report all equipment issues and faults for the requirement of ordering parts and process to relevant Departments.
9. Arrange any necessary starting up/shutting down procedures of machinery and security of premises.
10. Install and commission new equipment as required.
11. Conducting frequent quality checks on equipment.
12. Conduct routine preventative maintenance work, respond to equipment faults, diagnose breakdowns and arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components.
13. Respond to emergencies, unplanned issues, and repairs.
14. Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are always adhered to correctly and raise issues where this is not happening.
15. Effective management and prioritization of workload.
16. Keeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance conducted.
17. Carry out minor repairs to building fittings and structure.
18. Ensure that plant & equipment is in a condition that maintains a safe working environment in accordance with current legislation throughout the Company premises.
19. Advise the Managing Director of alternatives or improvements that could improve efficiency and/or reduce costs.
20. Liaise with other staff & management to ensure that good company-wide communications are established and maintained for the highest efficiency throughout the company.
Preferred Skills:
1. At least 3 years' experience maintaining/repairing special purpose machinery as an electrically biased maintenance engineer.
2. 3+ years of manufacturing and engineering experience is preferred.
3. Good knowledge and experience within the business sector involving Polymer processing.
4. The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
5. Team working skills to work cooperatively and consult with people at all levels.
6. The ability to take the initiative as and when required.
7. Good diagnostic and critical thinking skills.
8. The confidence to respond positively when under pressure.
9. First Aid experience would be beneficial.
