Plastic Moulding Design Engineer (27203)
Creating tooling and consumables for a med-tech start-up.
Specialising in med-tech workflow automation, this Cambridgeshire based company is seeking Design Engineers with experience in areas such as plastic moulding, tooling, or plastic consumables to join their rapidly growing development team. Your expertise will contribute to bringing important new therapies to market at an affordable cost.
Your expertise will make you a key member of the team, and you will take the lead in designing and developing essential parts and consumables that underpin the system's functioning. You will work with colleagues from a variety of technical disciplines and be involved from concept stage to manufacturing.
You will need:
1. A solid academic background with a degree in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering from a well-respected university, or equivalent vocational training.
2. Substantial practical product development experience through to manufacture – specifically, you should have experience in areas such as plastic mouldings, toolings, and plastic-based consumables, ideally in a medical device context.
3. Strong 3D CAD modelling skills (preferably using SolidWorks).
4. Full existing unrestricted and non-time-limited UK work permission.
Please note – this is an office/workshop-based role and can’t be done remotely, so you will need to live or be able to relocate to within daily commuting distance.
This is a great opportunity to make an impact at an early stage in a well-funded fast-growing company on the leading edge of healthcare R&D. They are based in modern, well-equipped offices, and have a supportive, social company culture. With a well-established parent organisation, they are able to offer a more comprehensive benefits package than many start-ups.
